The road to the starting point of the route already foreshadows a hike with beautiful views. The trailhead is located in an authentic Pyrenean village Castellar de n'Hug, where you can get to by car via the Coll de la Creueta pass, which is considered one of the most scenic in Catalonia.

It's even worth taking a walk around the settlement before the hike begins: pleasant narrow streets, stone houses, the genuine atmosphere of a Catalan village.
The trail is well-marked and leads to the first stop – the cave Cova de la Tuta_which was formerly used by shepherds as a pen for livestock, is now open to curious tourists. Stock up on a good flashlight if you want to have a look around inside.

After the cave, the most demanding ascent to the peak Tossal d'Orriols (1913 m) begins. Here you will see a panoramic view of the entire valley and the nearby mountains.

We descend from the summit past pastures and reach the final point – the source of the Llobregat River, which is the second-longest in Catalonia, originating in the Pyrenees and flowing into the Mediterranean Sea. We recommend visiting this place in spring, when the flow is higher. It smells of freshness here, water seeps directly from the rocks and you can observe many mini waterfalls and enjoy the soothing sound of the water.
The route is accessible year-round, but you should exercise particular caution after rains and during the winter.
